MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Hillcrest Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is celebrating children who have beaten the odds, survived and thrived.

On Sunday afternoon, the hospital invited NICU graduates to come to the hospital dressed up as their favorite superhero for a very special reunion.

The so-called miracle preemies reunited with the medical providers who helped bring them into the world and gave them lifesaving care.

The parents of preemies formally introduced their healthy children to their former doctors while the kids enjoyed games, crafts, food, dancing, a photo booth and ponies.

The more than 200 children in attendance Sunday were born two years ago. Hillcrest Hospital has been hosting the reunion for more than 15 years.
