COLUMBUS, Ohio- Looks like it’s a no go for the chance at no school the day after the Buckeyes play in college football’s first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship.

Ohio Governor John Kasich tweeted Wednesday evening “Sorry, Jack! Schools are staying open, but good effort! Hope you join us at the gala!”

Jack Hendrix, 15, of Columbus started a change.org petition calling on Kasich to cancel classes.

Hendrix told FOX 8, “It’s because Ohio State plays Oregon the night before.  The game starts at 8:30.  Average time of a football game is three hours and 20 minutes.  And that takes you to midnight.  That’s not including the commercials or halftime show or post game trophy presentation.”

Jack Hendrix wants Ohio Gov. John Kasich to cancel school so students statewide can stay up and watch the Buckeyes.
