MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Welcoming a baby into the world is always a unique experience for the parents but Wednesday was especially memorable.
All of the babies born will share an extremely rare birthday of 12/12/12.
Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 is the last triple-digit date alignment this century.
Hospitals across the country reported the arrival of the 12/12/12 babies, but some were able to add a couple more 12s to the day.
Forever Smith is just one of several babies welcomed into the world at precisely 12:12 PM.
“Her date 12/12/12 was planned, but not the time,” said Cierra Smith, Forever’s mother.
The emergency C-section at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights occurred one week ahead of the projected birth date.
Franklin and Cierra Smith named the 7 pound 7 ounce beauty “Forever” because they say she will always have a story to tell.
“We tried to think of something cute, different and my husband came across the name Forever and we stuck with it,” said Cierra Smith.
The date is also supposed to be good luck.
Numerologists, astrologers and some cultures believe that the number 12 is a positive number with “energetic significance.”
“I’m at a loss for words,” said Franklin Smith, Forever’s dad,” I guess it’s all good.”
Franklin is no stranger to interesting birthdays.
He was born on New Year’s Eve in 1982 and was the last baby born in Cleveland that year.
“They did a write up on me in the paper and I was like wow the same thing going to happen to my daughter,” said Franklin.
Forever will share her birthday with a couple of other local girls. An adorable baby girl named Emily Grace was also born at Hillcrest, and another cutie named Brooklen Shay was born at Wooster Community Hospital.
The Smiths say they’re all special, and most importantly they’re all healthy and loved.
“I feel complete now,” said Franklin, “I got me a little boy and now a little girl and beautiful wife.”
