CLEVELAND — As the investigation continues into the November 29 Cleveland police chase and police-involved shooting, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has released additional video from that night.

The video released Friday shows additional angles of that chase as it was captured on security videos located throughout the city.

This video was taken from security cameras at Case Western Reserve University. It shows the suspects’ car driving by, followed by dozens of police cruisers.

These video cameras were located on East 117th, East 118th, and East Field.

The chase started after an officer said someone in the suspects’ car fired a shot at him while he was at the Justice Center.

It ended in East Cleveland, when 13 officers fired 137 shots at the suspects.  Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams were killed.

BCI Friday also released an animation created by the AG’s office that is based on statements received from the 13 officers who fired shots at the end of the pursuit. The animation also includes audio from police dispatch and dash cam video.

There is audio used with the animation: “Please advise Cleveland and Cleveland Heights, see if they have spike strips…still going south, coming back up on a turn in a park…in the water treatment plant parking lot, block off the back lot.  Be advised, it looks like he was holding a weapon…shots fired, shots fired! (gunshots)…shots fired, shots fired! (gunshots)…Watch your crossfire.”

A slower version of the animation shows one officer fire shots into the car, which keeps moving. Then after it hits a Cleveland police cruiser, more officers open fire.

The video also shows that officers were firing bullets in each other’s direction, and it depicts one officer who jumps onto the hood of a police cruiser, then the suspect’s vehicle. Investigators said that officer alone fired a total of 49 shots.

The entire report is now in the hands of the Cuyahoga County prosecutor who will submit evidence to a grand jury to see whether criminal charges will be filed.

An internal Cleveland police investigation is also underway to see whether any officers broke any departmental rules.
