CLEVELAND, Ohio — Fans of “A Christmas Story” who visit the house and museum this season will be met with a new addition.

This weekend, the museum unveiled a memorial bench in honor of the film’s director, Bob Clark.

The bench is in the exact location where the director made his cameo appearance in the holiday film’s leg lamp scene.

Clark died in 2007 in a crash in L.A.

Employees of the museum say it’s exciting to honor the man behind the iconic film.

“If it wasn’t for Bob Clark, we wouldn’t have this house here in Cleveland,” said Angela Dickerson, CEO of “A Christmas Story” House. “He selected this house with the scouts when he came to Cleveland to check it out. And if it wasn’t for his dream and hearing those Jean Shepherd stories, we wouldn’t have ‘A Christmas Story’ at all.”
