CANTON, Ohio — SARTA and local authorities want to remind you about designated drivers this New Year’s Eve.

They’re letting people know about free rides to keep people safe.

Stark Area Regional Transportation Authority

The complimentary SARTA rides begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday on all fixed routes.

Additional buses will also run in Alliance and Massillon.

“We want to provide safe and reliable transportation so that everyone can enjoy a happy and safe holiday season. If you drink, please don’t drive. Instead, come ride SARTA for free,” said Kirt Conrad, the executive director of SARTA.

Check the SARTA online schedule here.

SARTA will not run on New Year’s Day.

The rides begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday and end at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Call (440) 204-2100 to request your ride.
