CLEVELAND, Ohio– A movie about the life of Jeffrey Dahmer is being filmed in the Cleveland area.

According to the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, “My Friend Dahmer” is shooting at locations throughout Northeast Ohio.

The movie, based on the book by Derf Backderf, tells the story of the serial killer’s high school years in Northeast Ohio.

Dahmer moved into a home in Bath Township with his parents when he was 8 years old.

Not long after graduating from Revere High School, he took 18-year-old Steven Mark Hicks to the home where Hicks was killed and dismembered.

Dahmer later moved from the house, ultimately settling in Wisconsin where he killed most of his 17 victims over a time span of 13 years.

“My Friend Dahmer” stars Anne Heche, and Ross Lynch, who was in “Austin & Ally,” and “Muppets Most Wanted,” plays a young Jeffrey Dahmer.
