CLEVELAND (WJW)– Hope Memorial Bridge in Cleveland was closed Thursday morning for filming of the movie “Wheat Germ.”
The bridge will remain closed until 4 a.m. Friday. Traffic is being diverted to the Detroit-Superior Bridge and there will be times when pedestrians cannot cross.
The Netflix project is an adaptation of the novel “White Noise,” and stars Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig. Filming started in Northeast Ohio in June with locations in Cleveland Heights and Wellington. The village’s main intersection got a makeover to make it look like the 1980s.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission said the majority of the $100 million budget for “Wheat Germ” has been spent in Northeast Ohio. It’s also hired hundreds of local crew members and background actors.
This is the last week of filming.
