ORRVILLE, Ohio - LaReece KeSean "Wally" Woods, 22, is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail on 1 million dollars bond.

He is accused of shooting and killing his wife in the front seat of her car while their 6-month-old twins witnessed the crime from the back seat.

Police were called to the East Paradise Street home where Woods' family lives late Thursday. Witnesses heard shots and found Emily Young slumped over in the driver's seat of her car.

Friends say she and Woods were getting divorced and she had taken the children over to see him.

"Basically she was just trying to give him a last chance to see the kids. She was being a mother and following her motherly instincts and that's to give your kids a chance with the father of your children, no matter what happens," said Sara Marie.

Relatives of Woods believe the shooting happened as she was leaving.

Woods was described by a former neighbor and family friend as a bright young man.

He played football in high school in Orrville and after graduating, went into the military.

He was stationed at a base in Alaska and friends say Emily moved to Alaska to be with him but the couple grew apart.

They moved back to Ohio in the past year and both family and friends say they saw a change in Woods' demeanor.

"You would never expect it from Wally, that's not the Wally that I knew. He went into the military, came back and he was different," said Lindsey Largent-Wittenmyer.

News of the shooting came as a shock to some in the community who knew Woods, but Young's friends say she had been afraid of him.

Prosecutors say he was recently indicted on a sexual battery charge.

They call her a great mother who always put her children first.

"I'm just glad they are not old enough to realize what happened, so I thank God for that. And it's just a shame. I'm at a loss for words, it's horrible, absolutely horrible and should not have happened," said Marie.

Police took Woods into custody late Thursday and say he confessed to the crime.

An eyewitness, who was also in the front seat of the car during the shooting, was unharmed.

Young's cousin created a Go Fund Me page for funeral expenses and for Young's three daughters, 6-month-old twin girls and a 2-year-old daughter.
