CANTON, Ohio – More than 120 of the best football players ever to play the game gathered on the steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Friday giving fans a chance to see them together along with the eight players who will be enshrined as the class of 2016.
Brett Favre, Marvin Harrison, Edward DeBartolo Jr., Tony Dungy, Kevin Greene and Orlando Pace gathered with the likes of legendary Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown and dozens of others for an official group photo.
This weekend’s enshrinement ceremony is drawing thousands of visitors to Canton.
The newly renovated stadium outside of the Hall of Fame held a concert Friday evening. The city will welcome the new inductees with a Grand Parade starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Also on Friday, more than 3,000 women attended the annual fashion show luncheon at the Canton Civic Center, with Fox 8 News anchor Stefani Schaefer as the Master of Ceremonies.
“I think the biggest thing is the tradition and watching all of the wives of the players come and come together in an event like this. It’s just really great to see how everything changes and evolves over the years,” said Renee Mayle of North Canton.
The weekend concludes with the enshrinement ceremonies on Saturday and the annual Hall of Fame game between the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
