VALLEY CITY, Ohio — A Medina County hair salon was recently robbed of monies that were collected for a women’s cancer charity.

The “Magnificuts” Hair Salon in Valley City was selling raffle tickets for the “Look Good to Feel Better” cancer charity, but the $340 collected plus $200 in the register were all stolen last weekend.

“We are shocked.  It’s a small community, so it’s like everybody around us now we have to kind of worry and hopefully everybody will start watching out for one another,” said Jean Bryant, the salon owner from Valley City.

The “Look Good To Feel Better” charity helps more than 50,000 women each year who are coping with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatments.

Some of the hair stylists at the salon can’t believe someone would steal when they were just trying to help people.

“Take from a local business.  We are a small community, everybody knows people here, we all love everybody, so to think of someone that could do it is just devastating,” said Taylor Lee, a stylist from Valley City.

The salon owner said she plans on replacing the stolen money out of her own pocket.

Medina County sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
