ALABAMA — A mother of four in Alabama may have it all figured out.
Allie Casazza says in a blog on ScaryMommy.com that she’s saved more than $1,000 per month and improved her marriage just by getting rid of most of her children’s toys.
The mother says she felt constantly depressed due to cleaning up toys and not entertaining her children enough.
So she gathered up the things that her kids no longer played with or didn’t give them a meaningful play experience and donated them.
The mom says that while the family is not completely decluttered, they are much happier.
Her story has since gone viral. While she’s gotten some backlash, she says most parents are supportive and want to use the idea themselves.
