NASHVILLE, TN –  A Tennessee mother is facing charges after leaving her infant in a hot car outside the strip club where she was auditioning.

24-year-old Kelsey McMurtry was auditioning at a club in downtown Nashville while her 9-month-old daughter was insider the locked car with  the windows rolled up. A passer-by saw the baby and called the police.

According to CBS News, police estimated the temperature inside the car had reached about 100 degrees when the child was removed, wearing a coat and drenched in sweat.  It was 72 degrees outside and witnesses say the baby had been in the car for about half an hour.

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment and is now in the care of children’s services.

Her mother is facing child neglect charges as is her 19-year-old friend who claims that she was watching the baby. Witnesses disputed her claims, though.
