Mentor Police Say Men Were Making Drug-Laced Gummy Bears

MENTOR, Ohio — Three men from New York are facing felony drug charges following their arrest in Mentor early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Dustin Richards tells Fox 8 News the men are suspected of making gummy bear candies laced with the drug Ecstasy and other drugs.

Richards says that just after midnight officers spotted a car speeding on Mentor Avenue. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver, Eric Kenny, appeared to have been under the influence of alcohol.

Upon searching the vehicle officers discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia and items used in the manufacturing of drugs.

Richards says one of the items discovered in the vehicle was a mold to make gummy bears.

Richards says Kenny, and the other men, Arkady Koroshihk and Michal Nemcok, are suspected of using the drugs to make the hallucinogenic candies.

All three men face were in Mentor Municipal Court on Wednesday for their initial appearance on the charges.

Richards says as of yesterday none of the men had posted bond and remain housed in the Lake County Jail.
