SANTA CLARA, California – Every single year, they’re at the big game together. None of them have missed any in the last 50 years.

Sylvan Schefler, Lew Rappaport, Al Schragis, Larry McDonald and Harvey Rothenberg sat down with TODAY to talk about all the fun times over the years at the Super Bowl.

“Nothing is forever,” Schefler said. “We all understand that. But we’ve been blessed to have had the opportunity to say this is 50 years.”

“We’re devoted to each other, and we’re devoted to the Super Bowl,” Rothenberg added.

One moment they all remember to be particularly special was Whitney Houston’s singing of the National Anthem in 1991 during the Gulf War. All 5 men are veterans.

“There was not a dry eye in the whole stadium,” Schefler said.
