MEDINA — The superintendent of Medina City Schools has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Last month, Medina residents vented their frustrations of superintendent Dr. Randy Stepp’s contract.
It included a salary of $136,000, merit pay raises, an $83,000 signing bonus and education reimbursements of more than a quarter million dollars.
Medina City Schools released the following statement, “This administrative leave is being taken as part of a standard investigatory procedure and is not a disciplinary action or adverse employment action or finding of wrongdoing.”
The Medina City School Board of Education has also requested the Auditor of State’s Office conduct an audit of the Medina City Schools’ Educational Service Center account. The request is to ensure all transactions were proper use of public funds.
