The world economy may be struggling, but someone has enough money to buy a unit in this elite apartment building in Manhattan.
An unnamed buyer paid the highest price ever for a nearly 11,000 square foot unit in the One57 building. The price, more than $90 million.
The prices averages out to around $8,000 a square foot.
The condominium is located on the 89th and 90th floors and features 23-foot ceilings, rosewood flooring, panoramic views of the city, Italian marble and custom hardware and light fixtures.
Prices for other penthouses in the building start at $6.75 million and about half of the units have been sold.
