AKRON, Ohio — As an 81-year-old woman was caring for her dog, a thief decided it was the perfect time to strike.
He got away with the woman’s bank cards and a dollar bill, but not before he kicked her dog out of the way, police said.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the 900 block of Concord Avenue in Akron.
The Akron Police Department said the woman was taking her dog out to the backyard when the man entered her house through a rear door.
When the woman returned to the house, she confronted the man. He knocked her over and left with her wallet.
The man is likely in his early thirties and is described as being 5’10”, 200 lbs., with short, black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark-colored pants at the time.
Anyone with information should contact the Akron Police Department at (330) 375-2552.
