CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man was shot in the hip in downtown Cleveland Thursday.
According to Cleveland police, it happened in the 800 block of Superior Avenue near West 9th Street at around 1 p.m.
Police say the suspect pulled up alongside the victim and fired shots into his car, striking him in the hip. The suspect fled toward The Flats in a dark-colored SUV with no front plate.
The 23-year-old victim is being treated for his injuries. Investigators believe this was not a random shooting and the victim was targeted in connection with other crimes.
The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police or CrimeStoppers at 216-25-CRIME.
