WICKLIFFE, Ohio– A man linked to several other robberies was arrested after he held up a Wickliffe gas station, police say.
The gas station at Euclid Avenue and Drenik Drive was robbed at gunpoint at about 6:39 p.m. Friday. Police said a witness provided officers with a license plate and car description, which was also given to the Euclid Police Department.
Euclid officers spotted the car East 260th Street at Lakeland Boulevard. The driver, 41-year-old Steven G. Kitchens, of Cleveland, was arrested. According to Wickliffe police, they also recovered a “realistic-looking BB gun,” cash, gloves and a ski mask.
Kitchens appears in court on Monday on one count of robbery and one count of possession of criminal tools. Bond was set at $200,000.
Wickliffe detectives said Kitchens is tied to similar robberies in Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Fairview Park and Cleveland. He’s also one of the men suspected of robbing a woman outside of Great Northern Mall.
