LORAIN, Ohio – A man accused of stabbing a dog to death for growling was indicted on several charges Thursday including cruelty to animals, intimidation and obstructing official business.

On June 22, Lorain Police arrested Emmanuel Eisel, 30, for stabbing a border collie at a relative’s home along the 1200 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Lorain.

The dog, Chew, growled at him while the dog was chained outside the home. Eisel allegedly picked the dog up by its tail off the ground.

The police report states that the dog, protecting itself, then bit Eisel.  Eisel then allegedly pulled out a 6-inch black pocket knife and proceeded to stab the dog multiple times.

Once a judge is assigned to the case, an arraignment date will be set.
