EASTLAKE, Ohio– An 18-year-old Euclid man is facing charges after police say he tried to rob two stores as part of a YouTube prank, Eastlake police say.
Officers were called to the Walgreens on Vine Street in Eastlake at about 10 p.m. on Monday. Employees reported a man with green hair and makeup chased a worker and rushed at a pharmacist behind the counter.
According to police, the man sprayed his hair green while demanding all the pills.
As officers were investigating the incident at Walgreens, the Discount Drug Mart down the street had a run-in with the same man.
Police caught up with the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Donald A. Finnie Jr., of Euclid. According to Euclid police, Finnie said he was only joking and he’s an actor, who wanted to post the prank on YouTube. His makeup and hair were fashioned after the Joker, police said.
He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of inducing panic.
Finnie’s bond was set at $3,500 during his arraignment on Tuesday. He has a pretrial hearing set for Nov. 15, according to Willoughby Municipal Court records.
