CLEVELAND- The man hit and killed by an RTA bus on Interstate 90 in Cleveland Thursday evening has been identified.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office said Andrew J. Shubic, 48, of North Ridgeville, died as the scene on I-90 east before the West 117th Street exit ramp.

Shubic's car was broken down on the left berm of the highway. According to the Cleveland Division of Police, he was running across I-90 when he fell and was hit by a bus.

The bus driver saw Shubic fall while crossing, but wasn't able to stop in time.

An RTA spokesperson said the bus had just left the Triskett bus garage to start its route so there were no passengers on board. The driver was not injured.

A section of I-90 was closed for several hours Thursday night while authorities investigated.
