CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man found shot inside a vehicle as Michael Adams, 30.

Cleveland police officers were called to the 14900 block of Florida Avenue in Cleveland around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The windows were broken to get to the victim, who police said had possible gunshot wounds to the head.

The medical examiner later confirmed the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head with skull and brain injuries.

The Cleveland Division of Police said Adams was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was first reported as a car on fire.

When firefighters got to the scene, there was smoke inside the car, but it was not on fire.

Police said the smoke may have come from Adams’ pressing the accelerator.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at (216) 623-5464.
