AKRON, Ohio -- Shawn Ford Jr. was found guilty of aggravated murder in the April 2013 double homicide of Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert of New Franklin.

The husband and wife, ages 56 and 59 respectively, were beaten to death with a sledge hammer inside their home.

The crime happened ten days after their daughter, Chelsea, was beaten and stabbed while out with Ford, a crime he is also accused of committing.

Prosecutors believe a motive for the murders is that the Schoberts objected to their daughter continuing to date Ford and prevented him from seeing her while she was in the hospital recovering from her wounds.

Ford, 20, could face the death penalty.
