FOWLER TWP., Ohio (WKBN) — A man clearing a tree off of Bradley Brownlee Road near state Route 5 in Cortland was taken to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle about 6:45 a.m. Friday.

Bradley Ronyak, 30, of Cortland, was driving westbound on Bradley Brownlee Road when he came upon a tree that fell across the roadway. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, he parked in the road and got out of his car to remove the tree.

That’s when Highway Patrol said he was hit by a 2014 Chrysler 200, which was traveling eastbound. Ronyak was standing in the eastbound lane at the time.

Crews took Ronyak to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, noting he had serious injuries.

The 25-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
