VERMILION, OH — Police arrested a man after seeing an increase in outside home air conditioner units in the last few months.
According to Vermilion police, the majority of thefts were located in the Vermilon on the Lake area.
On December 16, an officer noticed fresh foot prints leading to a vacant house on Edgewater Drive. During the investigation, other homes were found to have been trespassed on without the home owner’s permission.
Officers located a suspicious male walking in the area.
Tyler Weaver was arrested for two counts of Criminal Damaging and four counts of Criminal Trespassing to the four homes on Edgewater Drive.
Items recovered from Weaver’s home lead to additional charges, including Felony Theft, Criminal Damaging and Criminal Trespass.
The investigation is ongoing.
