Man Arrested in Armed Robbery at Dollar General Store

AKRON — Akron police have arrested and charged a man allegedly responsible for a robbery at a Dollar General store Thursday.

According to Akron police, the Dollar General store on Brittain Road was robbed around around 11:30 a.m.

Employees reported that the suspect entered the store, approached the checkout counter armed with a handgun and demanded money. The clerk handed the suspect an unreported amount of money and the suspect fled the store.

Officers were able to use a K-9 to track the suspect to his apartment.

The suspect, Raylon Lampley, 20, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery.

Officers recovered the gun used in the robbery as well as the cash that was taken.
