FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio- A man has been arrested in the 2007 murder of a Fairview Park woman.
A grand jury indicted Timothy Sheline on murder, aggravated arson, theft and tampering with evidence charges on Tuesday. The 64-year-old was arrested at his house in Lakewood Wednesday morning and taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail.
On Aug. 29, 2007, firefighters found the body of 67-year-old Gwendolyn Bewley at her house on West 220th Street in Fairview Park. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said she was already dead before the fire started.
Authorities determined the fire was intentionally set to hide Bewley’s injuries and the blaze was ruled arson.
“The wounds never go away, I mean, they’re always there…I just pray all the time and I know she’s with me, and our family just wants some closure. She loved nature and she just didn’t deserve to die like that, ” said the victim's daughter Sue Mazzone.
Sheline will be arraigned on Jan. 14.
“A fantastic way to start the new year, it couldn’t have come at a better time and we just want to be able to have peace and move on,” Mazzone said.
