CLEVELAND- A man is accused of advertising sexual favors with teen runaways on the website Backpage.com.

Demetreus Logan, 34, was indicted on Wednesday on compelling prostitution charges. The indictment said he solicited and facilitated sexual activities for hire from an underage girl.

On Dec. 21, an ad was posted under the escort section of Backpage.com for a female named “Marie.” The next day, a tipster alerted police to the ad, telling them “Marie” was actually a teen runaway, court documents said. The 17-year-old had fled from a juvenile facility in northeast Ohio.

Cleveland police and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office began investigating and called the number in the ad. According to court documents, officers spoke with Logan about exchanging money for sexual favors and arranged a meeting.

When Logan showed up to a motel on Dec. 23, there were two teenage girls in his backseat. The girls were listed as runaways from Akron and Columbus.
