CLEVELAND -- One man was injured following a police-involved shooting early Tuesday.

The shooting occurred shortly before midnight at West 25th Street and Marvin Avenue.  The Gang Impact Unit was in the area following several other shootings.

Around midnight, detectives noticed two males on foot and recognized one who had a felony warrant for shooting into a habitation.

When they approached, the wanted man took off.

Police pursued him and the 25-year-old pulled a weapon from his waist area.  Two detectives fired multiple shots, striking the suspect.

It was not known where or how many times he was hit.  His handgun was recovered.

The male was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to undergo surgery.  He was listed in serious condition.

The other man, age 29, was arrested after he was found to have a loaded handgun on him.

The two involved officers will be on three days of administrative leave. The Cleveland Division of Police Use of Deadly Force Investigation Team was investigating.
