MACEDONIA, Ohio -- A teacher at Macedonia KinderCare was surprised with $10,000 as part of the KinderCare Early Childhood Education Award on Wednesday.

Regina Campisi received the award in front of her students, their parents and her colleagues.

The award celebrates outstanding teachers in early childhood education. She's taught at Macedonia KinderCare Learning Center for more than six years.

She had no idea she'd been nominated for the prestigious award.

She received a $10,000 check and an all-expense paid trip to a national early childhood education conference.
