Lorain police arrest 51-year-old man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend

LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) -- Lorain police report they have arrested a local man in connection with a shooting and  SWAT investigation in their city.

Police had been searching for Curtis B. Haller, 51, who is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend on Sunday night.

Around 5:30 p.m. , police were called to a home in the 200 block of West 39th Street for a woman that had been shot.

The victim, who was found shot in the garage,  told officers she and Haller had been in a relationship but recently broke-up.

There was a temporary protection order in place against him.

Officers called in SWAT to assist in searching the property, but could not find him.

Haller was arrested later during a traffic stop. Police say they located him around 11:45 p.m. He was taken into custody and transported to the Lorain County Jail where he is waiting to appear in court sometime Monday.

The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital.
