LORAIN, Ohio- A pizza delivery man was shot and killed outside a Lorain motel Monday night.

Lorain police were called to the Lake Motel on West Erie Avenue, where they found the body of 26-year-old Robert Caudill, of Lorain. Police said Caudill, a father of two, was making a delivery for Happy’s Pizza when a man robbed and shot him.

“Everyone is down.  Because everyone dealt with him.  He was a very open person.  He did his job.  And he was checking on everyone else to make sure they were OK,” said Shanteia Moses, manager of Happy’s Pizza on Oberlin Avenue.

Soon after, police arrested Benjamin Davis, 29, in Amherst. He was charged with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. Davis was arraigned on Tuesday and his bond was set at $2 million.

Caudill worked at Happy’s Pizza for four months, where employees described him as a good guy and a great employee. They said he worked two jobs to provide for his two young children.

This is the first homicide in Lorain this year, according to police.
