North Ridgeville Residents Evacuated Due to Flooding

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, OH — The Lorain County Emergency Operations Center is assisting North Ridgeville public safety officials in evacuating residents who are stuck in their vehicles or houses.

The affected homes are in the area of Center Ridge Road and Mills Creek Lane.

Several other closures are located thought the city. A shelter has been opened at Fields Church on Lorain Road for residents displaced from their homes.

Lorain City Officials and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office are asking all Lorain County residents to stay off the roads.

Officials say the roads are extremely hazardous with possible debris and flooding.

Those that must commute are asked to use caution. Employees should comply with workplace policies or contact their employer.

The alert is in effect until further notice.
