CLEVELAND– A woman was critically injured in a house explosion in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood on Monday.
It happened at Primrose Avenue and Linn Drive shortly before 2 p.m. . Fire officials said an occupied house and garage were involved.
Fire Chief Angelo Calvillo called it a devastating explosion.
A 45-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition, Cleveland police said. She was in the street when paramedics arrived.
Firefighters removed some debris by hand, but are waiting for equipment to search for more possible victims. Based on information from neighbors, Calvillo said they do not believe anyone else was in the house.
Representatives from Dominion East Ohio were also at the scene. The utilities have been shut off.
The cause is still under investigation.
