CLEVELAND (WJW) – More storms were on the way after several inches of rain caused flash flooding in Northeast Ohio overnight Wednesday.

2:45 p.m. Cleveland Guardians enter a rain delay at Progressive Field in the top of the ninth inning.
2:30 p.m. The Willowick mayor’s office reports the building owners where a parking garage collapsed overnight have previously been cited multiple times for code violations. Continuing coverage here.
1:30 p.m. The Ashland County Sheriff’s office says road Conditions throughout the county are hazardous. Click here for a full list of Ashland County road closures and hazardous areas.
1:15 p.m. Grandpa’s Cheesebarn and Sweeties Chocolates’ Ashland location is temporarily closed due to flooding in the parking lot.
1:00 p.m. New pictures show clean up efforts underway at the Cleveland Zoo. The zoo announced earlier today they are closed for the day. The Asian Lantern Festival is also canceled Aug. 24 and Aug. 25.
12:30 p.m. New pictures into the FOX 8 Newsroom show the damage left behind to a parking garage in Willowick after it collapsed Wednesday night.
11:45 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced a sobriety checkpoint that was set to take place in Ottawa County Thursday night has been canceled due to the weather.
11:30 a.m. Due to high call volume, the City of Westlake is requesting reports of flooding be sent, here.
11:30 a.m. The Cleveland Zoo has announced that in addition to being closed for the day, the Asian Lantern Festival is also canceled Aug. 24 and Aug. 25. Ticket holders can contact the Zoo’s Guest Services by calling (216 )635-3391. Tickets are still available for Asian Lantern Festival on Saturday, Aug. 26.
11:00 a.m. The African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton is closed. According to a press release from the park, all the park’s animals are safe, following Wednesday nights storms.
10:30 a.m. The Cleveland Browns announced the last day of camp will be closed to the public due to oncoming inclement weather and lightning. In a post to social media, organizers said, “Thank you for another great year of training camp in Berea and bringing your energy this summer. See you all Week 1!”
10:30 a.m. Whisky Island Marina is closed. An officer manager reports, “the road into Whiskey Island Marina has been compromised by NEORSD and has just closed.” The closure includes the marina, restaurant, and Wendy Park.
10:00 a.m. The Cleveland Zoo is closed Thursday, August 24 for cleanup damage from Wednesday night’s storm. The rainforest will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to officials.
9:45 a.m. Several Summit County offices are currently unable to assist residents due to a power outage and minimal staff. The impacted offices are located at 1030 and 1040 Tallmadge Avenue. They include: Ohio Means Jobs Center, Clerk of Courts Title Division, Executive Building Standards, Fiscal Office Service Department. Residents are advised to call Friday to reschedule appointments.

9:00 a.m. Bash on the Bay is canceled Thursday, Aug. 24. In a press release, organizers say the show is postponed because of “unprecedented storm damage and flooding” at the Put-in-Bay Airport and the show venue. Updated details can be found, here.

8:30 a.m. The ramp from I-480 Westbound to SR-237 Southbound is closed due to flooding, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
8:30 a.m. The Lorain County Fair will be closed Thursday, August 24 due to flooding, closed roads, and damage. More details can be found, here.
8:15 a.m. AVON LAKE (WJW) – Due to high water Pin Oak Parkway is closed from Hinkley Lighting to the AL Bus Garage, according to Avon Lake police. To access business east of Hinkley use SR83; and to access business west of the Bus Garage use Moore Road.
8:00 a.m. A public advisory has been issued at Edgewater Beach due to a sewage overflow that took place after storms exceeded the capacity of the sewer system. Details, here.
7:30 a.m. (WJW) – The following routes are closed in Lorain County due to Flooding;
- SR 18, between SR 511 and Quarry Rd.
- SR 18, between West Rd and Hawley Rd.
- SR 303, between Pitts Rd and Quarry Rd.
(WJW) – Ramp I-480 West to SR-237 South CLOSED because of flooding.
- SR-303 CLOSED in BOTH DIRECTIONS 0.4 miles beyond Quarry Rd (MM: 4.9), due to flooding.
- SR-18 CLOSED in BOTH DIRECTIONS 0.9 mile beyond SR-511 (MM: 2.5), due to flooding. Use alternate route.
- SR-18 CLOSED in BOTH DIRECTIONS 0.6 miles beyond Hawley Rd (MM: 8.3), due to flooding. Use alternate route.
