CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A LeBron James mural hangs once again in Cleveland.
On Wednesday morning, the ‘Nike Welcome Home LeBron Banner’ arrived after traveling 1,785 miles the past 36 hours from Salt Lake City, Utah. The installation team spent several hours hoisting the 2,600 pound banner to the top of the Sherwin-Williams Company Global Headquarters in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
Crews began unfurling the banner at around 8 a.m. Thursday, just hours before the Cavs home opener, The installation crew will need most of the day to secure the one-piece 10-story banner.
Nike designed the new mural, which shows James from behind. He extends his arms outward as a puff of white powder lingers in the air. “Cleveland” is boldly displayed on the back of his jersey.

“For the past three years, we have dedicated the side of the Sherwin-Williams headquarters building at Ontario and Huron to celebrate the energy, strength and beauty of our home town of Cleveland. LeBron James is certainly one of the prides of Northeast Ohio. We think this new banner is a fitting tribute to LeBron’s return to Cleveland and we join with Nike and Cavaliers fans everywhere to welcome him home.”
The banner is said to be one of the largest in the world.
