LAKEWOOD, Ohio- Police in Lakewood are investigating a man's death. Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call of shots fired in the area of Eldred Ave. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man inside of a parked vehicle.

Police said he was dead and appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound. He's been identified as Charles W. Junke of Fairview Park.

Not long after the initial 911 call, police and SWAT were called to the Red Roof Inn on Clemens Road in Westlake, according to Westlake Captain Guy Turner.

Jeffrey F. Null, a 53-year-old Avon male, shot himself before police were able to speak with him, according to Lakewood police.

Lakewood Police Chief Ed Hassing believes both deaths to be related, as the men knew each other, but doesn't know the nature of the relationship between the men.

Hassing said Lakewood residents do not need to be concerned about their safety, as police believe Junke's death was not a random attack.
