LAKE COUNTY, OH — Lake Metroparks is caring for two young bobcats found southeast of Columbus.

In May, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife contacted Lake Metroparks about an orphaned bobcat. The young animal was found by the side of the road, not far from a dead female bobcat.

A little over a week later, a second orphaned bobcat kitten was found by a landowner mowing his lawn.

Both bobcats were brought to Lake Metroparks and were determined to be female and about two weeks apart in age. Both needed treatment for parasites and were slightly malnourished.

The bobcats are now housed together. Officials with the Lake Metroparks hope to eventually release the bobcats into a suitable habitat.
