CLEVELAND - Two 13-year-olds and one 11-year -old are accused of walking through a neighborhood on Cleveland's east side while waving a pellet gun and making threats.

Police records show multiple calls from East 60th Street and neighboring roads after 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Residents reported seeing a group of as many as seven children pointing a gun at passing cars. One man told Cleveland police the gun was pointed at him during an attempted robbery.

A 72-year-old woman said she was closing the gate on her driveway when she was approached by the same group asking for a ride. Fox 8 News agreed not to reveal her identity.

"They got closer and the smaller kid came to the fence here. And the smaller kid said ‘Give us a ride home.’  I said ‘No.’ He said ‘Why?’  I said ‘Because you are young and you need the exercise,’" she told Fox 8 News.

That's when she said they asked for her keys, but she stood her ground.

"He came to the fence and he opened the gate and he says 'Give me the keys.' I said ‘No’ and then he had his hand in the back and he pointed the gun at me.”

The woman said she started screaming.

Police combed the neighborhood and took the three juveniles into custody, confiscating a pistol they say was a pellet gun.

Residents of the neighborhoods say the group’s actions could easily have resulted in a tragedy.

"The person they are pulling it on can panic and hurt themselves trying to get away or somebody who has a gun and is licensed could end up killing them," said Rev. Ladonn Ruffin, who is organizing a neighborhood group.

The boys were charged with aggravated robbery. All three entered not guilty pleas to the juvenile charges and were ordered on home detention because they do not have previous records.
