CLEVELAND, Ohio — Kid Rock will perform at a Cleveland Rocks 2016 event that will take place on the last night of the Republican National Convention here in Cleveland.

As of now, the event is private.

Kid Rock will perform with his Twisted Brown Trucker Band on Thursday, July 21, according to a press release.

The event will be produced by Blue Star Productions in conjunction with the Green Beret Foundation, The Folded Flag Foundation, The Guardians of Heroes Foundation, Ohio Fallen Heroes and ST9. Those charities will receive proceeds from the event.

A press release states that Rock is a longtime supporter of veterans from all branches of the military.

Robert Jennings, executive producer of Cleveland Rocks 2016, stated:

“I think veterans’ issues are something all Americans should rally around which is why we’re working with major artists to carry that message to Cleveland and Philadelphia. Our activities support nationally recognized, small non-profits that work on the ground with active duty service members and their families and the veterans of America’s military. We thank artists like Kid Rock who are willing to stand up for vets no matter which way the wind blows, and we’re looking forward to spending time with the leaders and grassroots of both parties in Cleveland and Philadelphia.”

The Cleveland Rocks 2016 website states that the event will be held off the Cuyahoga River next to Quicken Loans Arena.

The Eagles’ Joe Walsh was set to perform the week of the RNC — on July 18 — but withdrew from the summer concert. He said he thought the concert was supposed to be a non-partisan event for veterans’ families, but he found out it was a launch for the RNC.
