AKRON, Ohio -- It's been almost 14 years since the murder of Hannah Hill. Monday, the man accused of killing her, Denny Ross, faced trial for the second time after the case was declared a mistrial in 2000.

Ten years later, in December 2010, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that Ross could be retried for the crime. Now, the family of the slain teen hopes to finally get justice.

Jury selection began Monday morning. A judge said that process, along with the trial, could take up to eight weeks.

Ross smiled and said to the jury, "Good morning everyone," Fox 8's Elisa Amigo reports.

Two groups of 45 potential jurors were questioned by prosecutors and defense attorneys on Monday. According to Amigo, a third group of 45 jurors will be questioned on Tuesday and that the remainder of the week could be dedicated to jury selection.

Amigo says that according to court officials, they anticipate Ross' trial will begin on Monday, August 20th.

Once a jury is selected, court officials say the first thing will be a jury trip to the crime scene.

Hill disappeared back in May of 1999. The 18-year-old had gone to visit Ross at his apartment in Springfield Township. She was missing for about a week, when her body was discovered in the trunk of her car.

Although his first trial was a mistrial, the jurors had voted to acquit Ross of the crime. This time though, prosecutors believe that they have enough new evidence to get a conviction.

There were apparently two plea deals presented by prosecutors to Ross, but when asked about taking the deal in court, Ross said, "Quite frankly, I find it really insulting. I really do."

Ross is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence for raping an Akron woman in 2004, while he was free on bond in the Hill case.
