PAINESVILLE, Ohio – A jury has found Kevin Knoefel guilty on 11 counts in the murder conspiracy trial involving his wife.

The 43-year-old was accused of seducing his foster daughter, Sabrina Zunich, and then convincing her to kill his wife.

Knoefel was found guilty of six counts of sexual battery, three counts of complicity to commit aggravated murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.

It took the jury nine and a half hours to reach their verdict; they started deliberating Tuesday afternoon.

The jury said they believed Sabrina Zunich’s testimony.

Zunich, 19, said it was Knoefel who hatched the plan to kill his wife and collect $785,000 from various life insurance policies. She said she was following Knoefel’s plan when she stabbed Lisa Knoefel 178 times in November 2012.

Knoefel faces life in prison when he’s sentenced; a sentencing date hasn’t been set.

His attorneys will appeal.
