It’s a new car! Student wins a Kia, 5 others awarded leases

MEDINA, Ohio — Talk about a perfect graduation gift.

Six were rewarded Monday night for their hard work after students from all over Medina County were entered into the ninth Bill Doraty Kia Medina County Graduate Giveaway.

It was based on GPA, attendance and activities outside school.

Michael Caniglia from Buckeye, Christian McAfee from Medina and Jared Schaufele from Brunwick all won two-year leases on a brand new Kia.

Also awarded leases were Sarah Wilkinson from Cloverleaf and Danielle Sexton from Black River.

The big prize went to Darby McFadden from Highland, who won a brand new Kia.

Also at the event, high school bands competed for a Battle of the Bands crown.
