HUDSON, OH -  Hudson police and state agents were called to the scene of a police shooting Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened on Hudson-Aurora Road. At around 2:46 p.m., a motorist travelling at high speed on the Ohio Turnpike sideswiped another vehicle, flipping his. The male driver climbed out of his damaged vehicle and fled the scene. Hudson Police were called in to search for him.

A Hudson police officer came upon the suspect in some woods of Hudson-Aurora Street. There was a struggle and shots were fired.

The suspect was killed.

The officer was taken to the hospital but police say he is doing fine.

The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling this investigation and are still gathering information about the incident.

The names of the suspect and the officer involved are not being released.
