CINCINNATI, Ohio — Reds bats produced 2 first inning runs and that was all the home team needed as the Reds beat the Tribe 4-0 on Thursday night at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Jay Bruce singled to third, and when Carlos Santana made an errant throw to third, baserunner Billy Hamilton scored.

Ryan Ludwick promptly drove in the next run with a single to left.

One more Reds run in the 2nd gave the home team a 3-0 lead. Billy Hamilton tripled in Homer Bailey.

In the 6th inning, Kris Negron singled to right to score Todd Frazier.

That was it. Indians’ bats produced only 5 hits all night. Not much support at all of starter T.J. House, who went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs, of which 3 were earned.

Homer Bailey went  7 innings and scattered 4 hits to pick up his 9th win. He helped his cause with one base hit and a run scored.

The Indians are in the Bronx Friday night.
