CLEVELAND — Your picture could inspire your favorite Indians players before each game if it’s selected to be part of the new “Tribe Town Memories” initiative.

The team is asking players to submit photos that may become part of a mural in the tunnel leading from the clubhouse at Progressive Field to the home dugout and field areas.

The tunnel is used by players, managers and coaches multiple times each day.

“I have a special affection for this team and this town. I spent my childhood here. I want every player on this ballclub to know what this team means to its fans and our city,” said Indians Manager Terry Francona.  “As our guys walk out to the field, I want them to be reminded of the passion that our fans have for this team. I believe there’s real power in that.”

Pictures not chosen for the tunnel will be featured online for all fans to enjoy.

Essays, video links and memory descriptions may also be submitted to be used in an online gallery.

The deadline for fan memory submissions is April 21.
