CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians suffered another loss as the Detroit Tigers topped the Tribe at Progressive Field on Friday night.
The Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and that’s all they needed.
The Indians had no luck against Tiger ace Justin Verlander and the Detroit bullpen.
The Tribe managed just six hits and lost 4-0.
The Indians beat Verlander back in July and were only three and a half games off the pace in the American League Central Division, but the Indians fell apart after that.
Their record is 16-44 since the All-Star break.
They are now fighting to stay out of last place in the division.
The Indians and Tigers meet again on Saturday.
