CLEVELAND — It’s the first campaign of its kind for the Cleveland Indians. The Tribe is looking for a governor of ‘Brohio’ for the 2014 season.
‘Brohio’ was formed by Cleveland Indian and Columbus native Nick Swisher, who is known for his energy, upbeat attitude and Ohio pride. A special section at Progressive Field was designed for ‘Brohio’ fans this past season.
Fans can submit videos by clicking here. The videos should detail why the contestant should be considered for the governor role.
Three finalists will then campaign in an interactive event at Tribe Fest on January 25 where they will be interviewed by several Indians personalities, including Nick Swisher.
After the “campaign,” fans can vote for their favorite candidate online, which counts for 50 percent of the total vote. The other 50 percent will be cast by Swisher himself.
Candidates will be judged on “Bro-hio-ness,” Indians passion and knowledge, creativity and leadership.
The winner must be at least 18 years of age.
He or she will receive a ticket to each Friday and Saturday home game at Progressive Field in the Brohio section. The winner will also be required to interact with other fans throughout the ballpark, stay in contact with Indians representatives and lead Brohio cheers, among other duties.
The contest ends Wednesday, January 15.
